Service Description

Pain remains one of the main reasons why people seek massage therapy services. In this course, we are going to examine the use of hot stone therapy for treating chronic pain issues. Students will be able to verbalize understanding of efficacy and safety of hot stone therapy, including how and when to suggest hot stone therapy to their clients presenting with specific chronic pain diagnoses such as certain musculoskeletal disorders, fibromyalgia, and other autoimmune disorders. Students will verbalize and demonstrate appropriate use of stones for treatment based on their clients’ manifestations. Students will learn how to apply their clinical judgement when developing treatment plans for their clients recommended for hot stone therapy.
